BEESHOEK MINE AIRPORT UPGRADE AND SAFETY ASSESSMENTS

Kumba Iron Ore appointed us to upgrade the Beeshoek Mine (Tommy’s) airfield in the Northern Cape to accommodate the 19-seater aircraft recently acquired by the mine.

The project included registering the facility as a higher category of airfield and undertaking aviation-related training and introducing operation manuals and procedures.

JG Afrika undertook the design and implementation of the apron extension, as well as terminal and passenger-handling facilities, in addition to lighting, re-surfacing and line markings, water and power supply, fire-fighting and rescue, operational assistance, approach paths and risk assessments.
