SANRAL appointed us to investigate pedestrian activities and vehicle movements at illegal access points along certain sections of the R63 from Alice to King Williams Town, Eastern Cape.

The scope of work included a status quo on-site investigation and recommendations, taking note of the high volume of school pedestrians.

JG Afrika recommended that sidewalks be provided and that suitable road markings and signage be implemented. Conceptual designs were provided showing pedestrian crossing points and traffic calming measures.
