JG Afrika is looking to hire a project manager with experience in managing projects in the municipal environment, in particular in the fields of municipal infrastructure or solid waste management.
Management of projects may also extend to supporting other areas of infrastructure development, like wastewater-related projects, infrastructure to community development, engineering projects relating to urbanisation.
The candidate will be expected to manage construction projects in both design and construction stage and engage and manage client interactions.
Duties and Responsibilities:
To manage and oversee design and construction stage of projects, including undertaking of contract administration, and preparing project management documentation throughout the life cycle of a project, including but not limited to:
o Project Management Plans,
o Project Execution Plans,
o Project Programmes,
o Project Implementation Plans,
o Cashflow Forecasts,
o Works Order Briefs
o Invoicing, and
o Budgets
To manage multidisciplinary engineering design teams and stakeholder inputs,
To oversee technical staff, and ensure task execution by key dates,
Preparing contract documentation and managing contract administration.
Train and Mentor junior staff in project management knowledge areas
Qualifications:
• Qualifying Undergraduate Degree in the Built Environment (BSc, BEng)
• PrCPM with SACPCMP (Essential)
• A valid driver’s licence (Essential)
Experience:
• 5-10 years’ post-graduation experience in project management municipal infrastructure discipline
Knowledge Areas
• Knowledge of the management and design of solid waste management, infrastructure including lined disposal facilities, refuse transfer stations, etc. (Advantageous)
• Knowledge of municipal environment and processes associated with these environments, (Essential)
• Knowledge of construction project management principles, (Essential)
• Knowledge of construction administration including GCC 2015, JBCC or FIDIC suits of contracts (NEC Advantageous)
