LOGISTICAL AND GEOMETRIC STUDY FOR TELIMELE HAUL ROAD IN GUINEA

JG Afrika undertook the logistical and geometric study for about a 65 km road that will be used to haul up to 10-million tonnes of bauxite ore from a mine site in Telimele to an existing railhead at Fria, Guinea.

The scope of work included the high-level level logistical study, which encompassed the number and type of road vehicles and their speeds; concept-loading facilities at the mine and railhead; as well as the planning of the preferred route. We also undertook the preliminary horizontal and vertical alignment of the route; upgrading requirements to the existing public road and pavement design, including maintenance requirements; as well as determining the number of bridges, plus major and minor culverts, and provisional earthworks quantities.
