MOSS KOLNICK

We were appointed as the bridge engineer for the Moss Kolnick Interchange on the N2, just outside Durban, which was upgraded to cope with significant traffic growth in the area.

The bridge is continuous over three spans across the freeway, and was constructed in half widths. Traffic was rerouted from the existing bridge to one of the new completed bridge decks. This facilitated demolition of the existing bridge and construction of the second structure.

They are of a post tensioned box girder type continuous over three spans. The bridges are 102 m in length and each 13 m wide.
