Gautrans (Gauteng Department Roads and Transport) appointed us to undertake the detailed design, tender documentation and adjudication, as well as site supervision for the re-alignment, upgrading and rehabilitation of the K14 leading into Cullinan, Gauteng.
In addition to a 2,7 km alignment on the K14, the work scope included the rehabilitation of 600 m of the old P2-5 road.
More than 100 000 m³ of hard rock was removed and used for fills and crushed for layer works, while a notable cutting had to be undertaken to remove the “Danger Bend”.
