EMPANGISWENI MICRO IRRIGATION PROJECT

The Empangisweni Micro Irrigation Project is located within the Vryheid Local Municipality jurisdiction in KwaZulu-Natal, in an area referred to as Gluckstadt. The project involved the design of 100 ha of micro irrigation system for the production of citrus trees. JG Afrika did the infield irrigation layout and the pipelines and abstraction works designs. The design was based on the SABS standards and the source of water for the scheme is the Black Umfolozi River. JG Afrika also undertook the contract administration and supervision.
