DUBE TRADEPORT POTENTIAL ASSESSMENTS

The Dube Tradeport Corporation, situated alongside the King Shaka International Airport development, wanted to expand its AgriZone and Support Zone operations and we were appointed to undertake agricultural potential assessments for two land portions to assess their viability for agricultural ventures.

The first phase entailed intensive soil surveys. Key soil characteristics were identified and logged during this stage. Soil samples were also taken from the surface and sub-surface horizons for laboratory analysis.

In-situ and ex-situ study site observations were then undertaken to determine land capability, potential and suitability.

We also undertook an agro-economic analysis, which included an assessment of the regional economic context.
