DIKGATLHONG DAM ADMINISTRATION AND SUPERVISION IN LESOTHO

The Botswana Department of Water Affairs appointed the Sinohydro Corporation (China) to construct the largest dam, the Dikgatlhong Dam, in Botswana,under the administration and supervision of a joint venture comprising Bergstan, Gauff and JG Afrika.

We provided design review, tender documentation and overall technical advisory for the full Dikgatlhong Water Project.

The 4,6 km x 41 m high zoned earthfill embankment dam has a full supply storage capacity of 400 million m³.

Other associated contracts included the upgrading of 44 km of road between Mmadinare and Robelela, housing and power supply. Additional contracts included the construction of a pump station and 75 km long by 1,2 m diameter pipeline.
