CAPE TOWN CONTAINER TERMINAL EXPANSION

JG Afrika provided railway engineering and design services for the expansion of the Cape Town Container Terminal.
The reconfiguration of the stack and non-stack areas in the Container Terminal necessitated the rationalising of the existing railway yard, making areas available for incoming road container vehicles and re-locating the rail facilities for container rail traffic further north.
Topographical surveys were done to identify existing services and to enable the design of the civil works (rail and roads), drainage, structures and fencing.
