JG Afrika (Pty) Ltd are proud to be working with the City of Cape Town’s Water and Sanitation Department on a vital flood mitigation project in the Gordon’s Bay area.
Now two years in, this project focuses on upgrading the Sir Lowry’s Pass River. This Sir Lowry’s Pass River flood mitigation Cape Town initiative is part of the City’s broader resilience planning.
The scope of work includes:
🔹 Enhancing the river’s flow and capacity
🔹 Constructing berms and erosion protection measures
🔹 Installing concrete ogee weirs for energy dissipation
🔹 Building pedestrian bridges to support future non-motorised transport routes
Ecological restoration is also a key part of the project. Vegetation re-establishment efforts aim at preserving biodiversity and supporting conservation.
