JG Afrika recently organised a special visit to the City of Cape Town’s Vissershok Waste Management Facility in Cape Town. This event provided key industry leaders with a firsthand look at the advanced waste management solutions at the site. The Institute of Waste Management of Southern Africa (IWMSA) collaborated closely with JG Afrika to make this event a success.
During the visit, attendees had the opportunity to experience the development and construction of a new cell and pond. They also received insightful presentations from several experts. Richard Emery, Technical Director from our Cape Town branch, provided valuable insights into the engineering challenges and solutions. He discussed the best practices adopted to enhance the landfill’s effectiveness and longevity. Additionally, Simphiwe Zondo and Byron Mawer, both from JG Afrika, shared their insight, knowledge and expertise. They showed attendees the construction activities and explained how these relate to the specialist design.
