Harold Tiganis qualified at the University of Cape Town in 1977 with a BSc in Civil Engineering and joined JG Afrika in 1980 as a structural engineer based in the Cape Town office. In 1997 he was appointed as a director of JG Afrika and was elected onto the Executive Board in 2012 responsible for operations in the Southern Region (Western & Eastern Cape).
Between 1981 and 1986 Harold designed numerous reinforced and pre-stressed concrete bridge structures and buildings in various provinces of South Africa, after which he spent four years on road and bridge construction projects. In 1990 Harold established the housing and municipal services division in the Cape Town office and was promoted to the position of associate and IT manager of JG Afrika.
Harold is a registered professional civil engineer and construction project manager whose main fields of specialization include feasibility studies, conceptual and detailed planning for land development projects, technical due diligence studies and monitoring, project management, contract administration, road rehabilitation, urban storm water management and catchment management.
Harold is the branch manager of the Cape Town office and IT director for JG Afrika. He also serves as a director of Transportation & Traffic Technology Africa and as a committee member of CESA, Western Cape.
